<div dir="ltr">Dear eQuest users, <div><br></div><div>I have some doubts regarding ASHRAE 2010 and 2007. I have put out my questions as below, request you to guide me through them and give some inputs too.</div><div><br></div><div>1. Reference: Table 5.5.4.4.1 - If in Energy Modeling, I assign SHGC with respect to this table, should I still model the fenestration shading. Will modeling the shading devices and correcting the SHGC as per the above table double account my results? How to proceed?</div><div><br></div><div>2. For basecase assignment I have always been referring the following wrt ASHRAE 2007,</div><div>a. Table 6.8.1 A - System 06</div><div>b. Table 6.8.1 B - System 04</div><div>c. Table 6.8.1 C - System 08</div><div>is this right to begin with? Please give me corrective insight if I am wrong</div><div><br></div><div>3. Wrt ASHRAE 2010, table 6.8.1 I gives minimum efficiencies for VRF AC. This is new in comparison to ASHRAE 2007. Fundamentally whenever I modelled herebefore, if my proposed case / design case were to have a VRV system then I would model the basecase with System 06. With the new table as per ASHRAE 2010, how should I go about this?</div><div>Please help me understand which tables to refer for baseline system assignment wrt ASHRAE 2010 in case of the following -</div><div>a. If Proposed Case / Design Case is Chilled Water System with AHUs</div><div>b. If Proposed Case / Design Case is VRV </div><div>c. If Proposed Case / Design Case is Ductable Split</div><div><br></div><div>4. Wrt ASHRAE 2007, Table 6.8.1 H, 6.8.1I and 6.8.1J give an insight into the minimum efficiencies for chillers less than 150 TR, between 150 TR and 300 TR and more than 300 TR respectively. Please guide me for the finding tables giving similar input in ASHRAE 2010. Alternatively guide me how to reference this in ASHRAE 2010.</div><div><br></div><div>5. Please help in understanding the differences and similarities in Energy Cost Budget Method and Calibrated Simulation Approach. </div><div><br></div><div>6. If I were simulating for USGBC an EB O&M project would I use the pointers as mentioned in the Energy Cost Budget method to develop my base case model? I understand that the proposed case will be with respect to the retrofit program or the actual building parametres</div><div><br></div><div>7. Please help me understand when are values from the various tables under the Normative Appendix A used. Are they used when specific R values or the assemble U values in the proposed case are not easily available or justifiable?</div><div><br></div><div>8. With respect to ASHRAE 2010, are there any ready to use online templates available for Baseline Fan Power Calculation for Energy Modeling Entries. Request you to please share the templates. </div><div><br></div><div>9. Appendix G in 2010, gives referencing for purchased chilled water / heating. I am confused whether these specifications are to be used for assignment in Basecase should the proposed case model have District Cooling / Heating as system specification. Please guide to refer / share if there are any specific district cooling related modeling insights.</div><div><br></div><div>I thank you sincerely for reading my long email and helping me understand the modelling nuanes better.</div><div><br></div><div>Happy Thanksgiving to one and all in the West!
