<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D">Keep in mind that the .bin files wont compile correctly unless the text file is correctly formatted. In the TMY2 documentation they have a listing of what variable
 goes in which column and what units it is expecting. When I say column, it’s not in an excel sense but in the sense that each character is a column.  Also, look for a text editor that can edit the files vertically and it will make your life a lot easier. When
 I tried it I found a program called ultraedit and used the trial period to make my file. I’m sure there are others that have similar capabilities. I’ll attach a past weather file that I had made so you can see the finished product.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

I use an Excel workbook.  One sheet has the raw CSV data and another sheet converts it to Imperial and formats to the text format required by equest.
