It is the way the program runs and is written.
eQuest is a program which will handle pretty much any building
that can be conceived. This does require some adjustments to be
done by the program operator to make the program conform to what
you are doing with it. In your case you want to delete the
roofs which aren't roofs. Be careful, you still need a floor
and you also need eQuest to recognize the 2 thermal spaces are
adjacent to each other. All that you need is in the program.
My time is too short to do a full walk through but there is many
examples in the archives. I believe Nick Canton did a very nice
run explanation on this.
One handy benefit of this is when you have a building that has
floors which don't line up, ie partial roofs. It is easier to
put the roof in and then delete the parts you don't need later.
Lol, not quite as easy and clean as that but you get the drift.
That is in the archives too.
Everyone has to remember computers and software have zero
intelligence, they are as dumb as a post. What makes them
useful is the skill of the operator. eQuest takes a huge amount
of skill to operate. As the eQuest basher said yesterday it can
be deceptively simple. It is not, you have to check everything
to make sure it is configured to match your model and that you
haven't made an error that is giving you bad results. If you
put crap in you are going to get crap out.

Hi everyone,
