<font size="+1">No this is not correct. You can go back into the
wizards, you lose the data you entered in the detailed edit mode
and you sometimes lose your complex window data. I have sat on
the cusp and gone back into the DD wizard as many as 30 or 40
times. I leave the windows on default % wall area and work on my
building and systems. I have found if you do a lot of work
without saving the job file, shutting down and reopening the job
file you can generate a lot of errors and your simulation won't
run. Though if you go through the error tracking screen most will
disappear, or you will change one thing and 20 errors will
disappear. Most are not errors and almost certainly not bugs.
The code runs in a specific order and if you make changes to
several or many things the program could be looking for a
reference which was updated further down but is not yet
recognized. I believe, and take this with a grain of salt, I
haven't written code in 20 years, when you make changes all the
changes are appended to the end of the current job file. If you
try to run a simulation almost for sure you are going to generate
a call for the new information and will generate an error or get a
frozen screen. More so if you are changing systems, adding
systems, changing names, etc. These changes are much different
than changing a set point. eQuest also seems to hold the errors,
just adding to the file until you go in and address them. By
shutting down and reopening you are allowing the program to
reorder the code. This will generate phantom errors but the code
is reorganized and will run a simulation. Another point is don't
go and change 10 things at once. If you make a mistake you have
minimum of 10 places to look for the problem. One major item at a
time, save a copy every time. There is no way an expert can write
5000 lines of code and not have an error. Now most people on here
are not experts, and try to write 20,000 lines of code and expect
to have no errors. eQuest is an interface which allows non
experts to write code or attempt to. If you are an non expert in
code, a non expert in thermodynamics, controls, HVAC, you are
really behind the 8 ball. eQuest makes things seem easy but in
reality the program is very rigid in how you enter data and the
order you enter it in. Start at the bottom and logically progress
through the building and its systems. You can go back into the
wizards as many times as you need to, remember everything you
enter in the detailed mode will be lost if you go back and custom
window work in the wizard could be lost if you freeze the
program. It is just a hammer, even experts hit their thumb once
in a while.<br>
