The install size has bounced around quite a bit over the last couple of
years. v3.6 (3/07) was ~26MB. Several tutorials were added which
resulted in a 40+MG v3.61e distribution (5/07) and then a 51MB v3.62
(9/07) wrap. Minor additions grew the install further to a peak of
~53MB (v3.62c, 4/08) but the latest v3.63 installs are actually
SMALLER, weighing in at around 45MB, thanks mainly to a new, less
bloated (and higher compression) installation mechanism.<br>

We are hoping to get a public release version 3.63 posted soon, but are
trying to wrap up a few more things before doing that. In the mean
time we are making pre-release versions of 3.63 available to those
individuals that report problems that v3.63 should resolve. The most
common of those issues have to do with Vista compatibility.<br>
Many of the most notable enhancements can be viewed in a BSUG
presentation I gave back in May of '07. Go to <a

Other more significant recent updates include the following:<br>
- Updated version of DOE-2.2 w/ condensing boiler simulation and
corresponding wizard option & defaults (also recent additions incl.
additional window covering controls, zonal exhaust make-up via
infiltration & ASHRAE-enhanced residential infiltration)<br>
- Updated DOE-2.2 help system <br>
- Compatibility with AutoCAD DWG file formats through their 2009
version (very little testing here)<br>
- Screens\BDLUIData.csv - additions to handle all TYPEs of CURVE-FITs
correctly (mainly for required keyword dialogs) and also (relatively
new) WINDOW
and SPACE daylighting keywords<br>
- New changes making eQUEST more Vista-friendly. Program DLLs/EXEs are
still
installed under Program Files, but other data files are installed under
(user or all users)\Application Data\... and project files are
installed under (user or public/shared)\My Documents\...<br>
- New installation mechanism. We are now using the NullSoft (open
source) installation system<br>
- Additions to wizard database and translation to BDL to enable DCV
modeling via wizards - Two new OSA & DCV-related controls added to
the sub-dialog accessed via the “Fan Flow & OSA” button on the
“HVAC System Fans” wizard screen<br>

Unless you are encountering problems with your existing version, we
recommend that you hold off until a public release of v3.63 is posted.<br>

<p class="MsoNormal">I have multiple versions of Equest that I have
been playing
with including 3.63. Can someone who is familiar with the 3.63 explain
the differences between this version and previous versions. I know
that
the install is a larger file so there has to be something more there
but I have
not dove into the program enough to find out.<o:p></o:p></p>
