[Equest-users] Planning on Moving the Mailing Lists

I would appreciate your input on a decision I need to make.
My current web hosting provider has included mailing list
hosting for many years, but they will cease providing this
feature on July 21. Given this, I think I am going to move
the mailing lists to a new service of some kind. I am
committed to continuing to provide a discussion service to
the modeling community as long as it is useful. That said,
the frequency of postings is shrinking.

Years ago, we discussed a number of different options, and I
believe they included

  * New mailing list hosting (Mailman 3, Google groups,
    groups.io)
  * A new web-based forum (Discourse, Flarum, phpBB, Reddit)
  * Shutting down and encouraging the use of Unmethours,
existing Slack, or existing Discord channels

You can be assured that whatever change is made, I will try
to make it in the best interests of the modeling community.
In addition, I am committed to preserving the archive of emails.

I also wonder if some new mailing lists (or forum topics)
would be appropriate and I would be glad to start those if
we can form core group of users for each. Please let me know
if you have any ideas.

If you would like to help guide this decision, please let me
know what you think.

Thanks

Jason

(apologies for the cross-posting)
