[Equest-users] 15 minute interval peak demand data in eQuest

Hi everybody (it has been awhile!!),

I was skimming this and my mind was caught on diving deep into doe2’s options for sub-hourly reporting once… With due credit: I looks like it was Patrick who drew me into that rabbit hole ^_^.

Attached is a mini-guide drafted for this community a few years ago (circa 2019) which explores/illustrates what’s possible. Hopefully this attachment is accessible for everyone, but let me know if I need to copy/paste 😉. BLUF: with specific airside system types, eQuest by default will determine coincident sub-hourly (15 minute fixed interval) peak draws for electric meters, and report that on SIM output ES-E. This is rudimentary however and the underlying simulation is for the most part still hourly. I’m not confident that there’s any way to extract a 15 minute interval output, but I haven’t explored this explicitly.

Hi Gobi,

As others have mentioned, eQuest runs hourly simulations. Personally, I don’t believe eQuest would be the right tool for this job. I’m not sure what you’re trying to accomplish as I’m unfamiliar with Xendee as a software, but in my experience when helping to design EV charging stations, that 15-minute interval data would be most accurate coming from the meter or sub-meter (ideally). Furthermore, if you’re trying to predict demand of an unregulated end-use you’re going to have to make some broad assumption about schedule of usage. That alone could be enough to throw your calcs off.

Good morning! If there is a chance to pull peak demand kW with 15 minutes interval data in eQuest? Appreciate your help.

Thanks
Gopi
