Thanks Bill, so if I enter my chiller equipment EIR on the detailed mode I have to correct (breaking the fan power) for LEED baseline or both (prosopsed and baseline)?

Now I have another question when you're modelling the proposed case for LEED and I have air cooling unit I need break the fan power? Or this is only needed on the baseline?

Subject: RE: EIR

Hi Juan,
The EIR is the efficiency at rated conditions. The EER is full-load efficiency of VRF and other cooling systems, so it should be used to calculate the EIR (=3.413/EER). The Integrated Energy Efficiency Ratio (IEER) represents part-load performance. There is no input for IEER in eQUEST. It has to be accounted for using the system performance curves and other system keywords. It's not easy to customize all the inputs needed to reflect the part-load performance of a system. The intent of the default DOE-2 inputs and performance curves is to approximate part-load performance for typical systems, but there is always an need to gather manufacturer performance data and improve/supplement the default curves and inputs.
The default DOE-2 values for EIR should always be overwritten with user inputs whenever you know the actual equipment efficiency or you if you are trying to represent a baseline or code-minimum condition. For chillers, if you enter a value for KW/TON, the EIR is automatically corrected.

Regards,
~Bill

Hi, I have a question about EIR modeling.
When I'm modeling the cooling unitary power and I load curves the curves to approximate VRF system(llike Mitsubishi guideline), I have to model with EER or IEER?
Another question I have is when you have a chiller equipment efficiency, you have to correct EIR?
