[Equest-users] Modeling one boiler instead of two boilers in Proposed model

Hi Edgar,
I never model “standby” or redundant pieces of equipment if they are identical and if they are designed and controlled for backup/emergency purposes and/or cycled only to distribute wear-and-tear across multiple components. This is typical for boilers and pumps. I often name the components in the model to reflect that there are more than one – P-1/2, B-1/2 etc.
Regards,
~Bill

Subject: [Equest-users] Modeling one boiler instead of two boilers in Proposed model

So I have been reviewing my proposed energy model for LEED v4 certification and I needed to check with someone if modeling the water-side HVAC system with one boiler is acceptable instead of modeling two boilers, which are to be designed in the final drawings, because of the fact that only one boiler will operate at a time instead of both operating simultaneously (part load).
