 Sir:
I would have to look into my archives. But I believe your open areas are like atriums without roofs, florals areas which beautify the building. We have a lot of that in Southern California.
I think you can just do your zoning in the DD wizard, then eventually go to the Detail Edit mode, remove the roofs, and make the adjoining walls external rather than internal. You may need to add some self shading as well.
It should work.

I have a building in which some spaces are open to sky.In building footprint we can trace only the outer boundary of our plan.So, how to deal with these open spaces?Is there a way to create the annular footprint or I have to do something else?
