Hi Errol,
You will find the eQUEST Users list to be a helpful form. http://lists.onebuilding.org/listinfo.cgi/equest-users-onebuilding.org
I rarely participate in energy-models.com (just a time thing; not judging the site) and I have not seen the training video. I also do not use the "dummy zone" method of modeling DOAS.
I created my own method for modeling DOAS systems. Google "DOAS workaround using plenum spaces" for a description.
See my responses to your questions below. Good luck.

Hello,
I read your discussion in energy-models.com forum useful regarding the ERV for DOAS system. I am struggling to get more information from anywhere else in the forum, DOAS modelling itself. The training video in this website does not discuss the following & it will be great if you can help with some ideas:
1. DOAS airflow capacity (outdoor air cfm) to be input at the DOAS system tab or at dummy zone or at each system or zone served by this DOAS?
- I don't use the dummy zone method so can't help you here.
2. Which is the more appropriate system to use for DOAS, my other systems are PIUs and FCUs?
- You can model energy recovery in PIU systems so that would be my first approach. You could try modeling the FCUs as PIUs if this helps. If you are modeling the DOAS as a separate system, PVAV or VAV using make sense.
3. I tried using different systems & input outdoor air CFM, thermostat schedule & cooling capacities for the DOAS. But I am getting too much unmet hours and my energy consumption seems to be very high.
- There are many reasons for getting high unmet hours in eQUEST and it is hard to troubleshoot without reviewing the actual model. There are good suggestions in equest-users.
4. For LEED, is it required to model DOAS in basecase as well? Or can we just input zonewise OA CFM for basecase & model DOAS in Proposed case with all the Heat recovery units & VFDs to show energy savings? But modeling DOAS with HRW seems only to increase the energy consumption. Can you please help.
- If DOAS with energy recovery is an energy penalty than your model definitely needs work. DOAS is not required for the LEED baseline, but energy recovery might be, per the Appendix G. requirements. The important starting point is to model the same volume of OA, which I usually do by inputting the OA cfm at the zone level, identically in the proposed and baseline models.
Regards
