[Equest-users] Multi Unit Residential Building with Baseboard

Hi folks,
I am using eQUEST to model electric baseboard heating with ventilation in
a multi-story residential building. I set electric baseboards at the zone
level, and chose packaged single zone (no heating and only baseboard) at
the system level to model the ventilation. The model runs and gives me
zero unmet hours, but the electricity consumption for baseboards is less
than what I am expecting.

The total building load in LS-F report seems to be right, and quite aligns
with my expectation. Now, this load must be met via baseboards that are
installed in the residential units. Also, the baseboards must provide heat
to heat up the constant running fans for the dedicated outdoor air that I
assigned to each zone.

The electricity consumption that I get in BEPS report is only enough to
meet the building load (as reported in LS-F) but not large enough to heat
up the OA. I did a simple hand calculation for one space during Jan, and
the values for electricity consumption in baseboards are off by 40%.

Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong here?

P.S., for the purpose of dedicated outdoor air I set a 24/7 “ON” schedule
for fans that blow into each unit.

Thanks for your comments
