[Equest-users] Building Peak Cooling Load

As a general practice I’d advise referencing the net peak listed for the baseline CHW loop in the PS-D report for determining plant peak cooling load, independent of chiller distribution.

One difference between the numbers is that where SS-D is simply the peak load seen at the HVAC coils, the PS-D figure incorporates heat of CHW pumping & distribution, which is additionally handled at the primary equipment. I’m not sure if that explains the whole gap you’re seeing, but that’d be a part of it.

Subject: [Equest-users] Building Peak Cooling Load

Hello,
Which report shows actual building peak cooling load? Is it the SS-D report? I am modeling ASHRAE 90.1 2007 system 8 - VAV w/PFP boxes and have chillers in baseline case. Shall I look at the SS-D report peak cooling load or PS-C equipment peak cooling load? I am getting different values in both reports(SS-D = 529.22 tons and PS-C = 642 tons).
