Hi Kumar,

Thanks very much!

Sorry you didn't get a quick reply - sometimes everyone is just very
busy... other times you can get much more advice than you wanted! I
guess that's the nature of a mailing list community!

Some quick/brief answers below in red:

If you don't mind, I'll post the same reply to the list for others'
current & future benefit.

Hi Nick,

Congratulations on winning the Lowdown Showdown!!

It was really nice to know and read the Competition that you aced! : )

And....

I'm so sorry to disturb you on a weekend.

I request, if you could take out just a little while on Monday to guide
me design these into Equest, it would be very helpful.
(No one on the portal has replied to this too.)

 - The DHW uses heat from the Steam meter(Purchased Heat { using Hot
Water}) which I've used for heating the Building. How do I assign and/or
connect, such that the DHW would use the same heat used for heating the
Building?

Usually the quickest/easiest approach is to assign the DHW as a
fractional load and schedule as a process to the steam-heated HHW loop.
End-use should look like "process" under fuel in typical output
reporting. Good idea to not delete your DHW loop/equipment before
confirming you are getting the math/conversion right by reference ;).

-The Building has 4 Water cooled Chillers which have 4 Drycoolers. 1
drycooler is already made by default. I wished to model 3 more, so that
they serve the 4 chillers.

2 options: either make it single a 4-cell drycooler, or right click the
dry cooler in the component tree to copy it 3 times. Choosing the
"Link" option for the latter case will mean the 2nd/3rd/4th coolers will
inherit/default all inputs to those in the first, and that could help
you save time:

-- Place to input the Cooling Tower Fan power for each of the 4
Drycoolers; Would It be in the Condenser Water Loop Pump?

If you double-click a tower, you can assign EIR (per unit rejection) or
straight kW per cell in the top-right of the first screen.

-- Place to Input Condenser water(CW) leaving temperature

See the setpoint temperature for the associated CW loop. Also if you're
trying to match real-world equipment, review the help entries for active
inputs in the 2nd screen/tab of the tower inputs.

-Place to input Chilled Water Supply Temperature and CHW Delta T (Temp
Diff between supplying of Chilled water and leaving CHW) for the
Chiller.

See the setpoint temperature and delta inputs for the associated CHW
loop.

 - 4 Primary Chilled water Pumps for Chiller are present. The Places to
input the values for Primary CHW Pump power and Primary CHW Flow. In
case I've got to make and assign Primary Chilled water Pumps, where can
I do that ?

Pumps are created by right clicking an existing pump ("Create another
pump...") or by right clicking the "Project" item ("Create Pump...") at
the top of the component tree. You can enter pump flow/power properties
for each individual pump at that pump's properties screen (doubleclick).
You assign pumps to loops or attached loop equipment somewhere within
the respective loop/equipment properties screen (varies depending on
what we're talking about).

I'm slightly confused between the Chilled Water Loop Pump under the CHW
loop; is it the Secondary Pump or Is it a summation of Primary and
Secondary pumps.

While a single pump CAN be representative of multiple pumps... it
depends on your inputs. As needed you can create individual pumps under
your chillers, primary, and secondary loops. Hard to be more specific
with this query without knowing more of what you're trying to
accomplish.

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards

Kumar
