[Equest-users] White Box Technologies releases 21st Century "typical year" weather files for 224 Canadian locations

Julien,

Surprising that you asked this question, because I just posted an
explanation two days ago why I haven't created a similar "typical year"
weather set for the US, which I'm attaching immediately following this
reply. The bottom line is that while I have the capability to do this
fairly quickly, I'm not sure whether it would be seen as stepping on
NREL's turf or regarded as superfluous by the users.

Aaron, others,

It's a business decision on my part not to create "typical year" weather
files for US locations, since people have free access to the TMY3
weather files (Incidentally, the TMY3 files on both my web site as well
as doe2.com were converted by me from the original *.CSV files released
by NREL in 2005). However, I have been creating custom "typical year"
weather files for US locations upon request of customers for locations
not in the TMY3 collection, or for different time periods (generally
more current) than what was used for the TMY3. For example, over the
past year I've created "typical year" weather files for Park City Utah,
three locations in Maui, and for Pittsburgh IAP based on the last eight
years.
