We have good experience with Dropbox, which allows file sharing and automatically backs up all deleted and earlier version files https://www.dropbox.com/help/122, so we no longer need to “save as”.

I've network drives as well as cloud storage to be problematic too.
My preferred workflow involves git as revision control, and bitbucket as an online repository for collaboration.
No more having tens of files named poorly to track project history, it's all there and proper. A little bit of a learning curve but limiting yourself to using one branch at first is definitely simple and anyways well worth it. Anyone interested feel free to ask questions, I'd be happy to help you get setup and share workflow tips.
Best,
Julien

Another “stability” tip to add into the archives:
If your office utilizes cloud services for storage or for collaboration with others, I’ve found some causality between eQuest hanging/crashing to working within a Google Drive subdirectory. I suspect it may have something to do with read/write permissions or else the way files are accessed to continually update/sync with the cloud.
I have since switched to working on a “local” copy of projects outside of cloud directories to avoid the issue.

As said before, running in compatibility mode will solve most of the issue.
It'll still happen once in a while and restarting (or logging out) will solve it.
Cheers,
Julien

We have also run into this error in 3.65. The ‘solution’ we’ve used has been to restart the computer. This has tended to ‘fix’ the error.

Are you running equest in compatability mode:

I’ve had good luck with running it in XP service pack 3 compatability mode.

I have had this happen on a couple of separate projects – they are running fine one day and the next day I get unexplained crashes
Here’s a screenshot of the error message
<image002.png>
Anyone else experienced this? Any ideas as to what the issue is? Its happened to me on projects still in the wizard as well as those in the detailed interface.
Any insight would be much appreciated
Thanks in advance
