You have to be careful but it can work.

Click on any cell in equest, hold the shift button and use the arrow keys to select the desire info to copy. It should look like the screen below.

Click ctrl+c

Copy the data into excel like below.

Click
Ctrl+Alt+V
Ctrl+C
Ctrl+V

If you look below. I have copied in all of the Equip W/SF to 2 and the changed the first one to 1.5 to prove the change has in fact taken hold.

I just tried this out of curiosity and it didn't work.... I found I had to have a value there prior to trying this operation (just a zero worked fine) and I had to click on the box and then hit the down arrow and then up to make the box have a black outline. And then the values would past in using Ctrl+Alt+V. Otherwise the values were not showing up as red text and would delete as soon as I entered my next value. Also steps three and four just made it go away. Are you using windows 7? Im on XP. This may be the difference.

You can't copy and paste every cell. Some are locked and prevent that function.

But don't despair.

Simply

Ctrl+C the desired material to copy over from excel while in excel.

Ctrl+Alt+V the material into the desired cells in the spreadsheet mode in eQuest.

Now here is the trick. Immediately

Ctrl+C again the material in the spreadsheet in eQuest

Without moving or doing anything else

Ctrl+V

And there you go. I know it sounds ridiculous but it does work.

Remember

Ctrl+Alt+V
Ctrl+C
Ctrl+V

Don't do too much in too large a model. It can take some time for eQuest to change all the values in the inp and can look like the program is stalled while it is in fact working but can (and has for me) taken a couple of hours to finish all the changes.

HI Robby-

eQuest looks like a spreadsheet but doesn't act like one. Don't mistake it for a spreadsheet. You can copy/paste but you can only do it one cell at a time.

Cheers,
Pasha

Has anyone had any success with using the method below for copy/paste into eQUEST spreadsheet mode? Once I've pasted the values into eQUEST it appears as if it's worked, but as soon as you allow the spreadsheet to update (by entering a value in any cell for example), all of the pasted values disappear and the old values are still present.
