Dear Jonathan,
As you mentioned, the chilled water supply temperature and the condensing for the baseline has been specified, hence, if you are using centrifugal chiller, the COP would be 6.1. The other table is for the statutory requirements for US.
For the proposed model, you should model explicitly on the equipment that will be installed.

Subject: [Equest-users] COP used for simulation to fulfill LEED requirement
Dear all,
I am just simulating a project and wondering what the COP of the baseline model shall be.
Assuming the chiller is >1055kW, according to ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G, the chilled water leaving temperature and condensing water entering & leaving temperature has been specified.
Shall I employ these data to determine the COP by Table 6.8.1J, i.e. COP 6.1?
Because the chilled water and condensing water temperature in our project is differ from the ASHRAE standard, it seems that the COP cannot be compared in apple-by-apple.
Thanks so much for your kindly help.
Thanks,
Jonathan Mak
