[Equest-users] Modeling gas instantaneous water heaters in eQuest

Hi David!

Hm... I'll take a swing at this...

I'd suggest simply modeling a normal gas storage water heater.

1. Zero out the ambient tank heat losses in detailed edit (set
tank UA to 0)

2. Match burner efficiency (HIR) and capacity to the actual
equipment

3. Call it a day ;)

By default (coming out of the wizards), hot water loops don't have a
loop UA defined and so will not model losses. If you're trying to
differentiate between instantaneous and storage systems with a
static/recirc loop, your storage model ought to define something for
loop losses to keep everything on a level playing field.

eQuest

I am working on a project that is using instantaneous gas water heaters.
What is the best way to model these in eQuest?

Thanks,
