Hi Bill,

I was trying to learn about fan power in the PROPOSED design. How would
you calculate that fan power for AHUs and FCUs and exhaust fans?

THanks,

Omer,
The baseline fan power allowance includes total system fan power so if you
have multiple supply fans (central + fcus), return fans, exhaust fans,
etc., the fan power you calculate per 90.1 should be distributed to all
the fans in your system.
Regards,
Bill

Subject: [Equest-users] Fan Power / Static Pressure

Dear All,

I would really appreciate a starting point on the following, as due to my
lack of knowledge about mechanical engineering I am having trouble with:

To calculate fan power for the proposed model, somebody suggested to me
here a few weeks ago that the total system static pressures have to be
used. Now what does this involve? If I have several fan coil units in a
single system, how am I to calculate the total system static and the fan
power from that?

Any tips or references for reading material would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Omer Moltay, LEED AP
