<div dir="ltr"><div>Hi Raquel!</div><div><br></div><div>I recently completed this credit for a small laboratory building in Sweden. We're expecting to receive 14 out of the available 18 points (not yet awarded by USGBC). There was no "special" design feature (DOAS with efficient HR, an efficient water source chiller, and district heating), only standard design for Sweden - no integrated design process. LEED v4 was used, so the baseline building is still based on ASHRAE 90.1 2010, which results in a not so efficient baseline.</div><div>For an office building, I would expect lower credit points, as the airflows would be lower compared to a laboratory (decreasing the savings on heating and fans) + there would be more penalty on (probably) not achieving the requirements in "8.4.2 - Automatic Receptacle Control" as there would be more office areas.</div><div>Regarding the decarbonised energy grid in Sweden: this can have an effect if you expect to achieve most of your savings in e.g. district heating or natural gas, and not in electrical energy use. In this case, your GHG savings can be much lower than the source energy savings. be shared in terms of how difficult it has now become to get the points for the credit in comparison to the previous calculation method? Or on the impacts relating to the energy systems that the new calculation method may lead to? I came across an USGBC resource
that encourages the application of the Integrative Design process to meet the higher energy performance required by this update, which would mean to a large extent a higher effort relating to the passive energy and control systems. But I’m wondering if that
is all that is likely to be involved.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
