Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a two-year Research Fellowship
in Building Technology. </span><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:rgb(1,25,38)">As digital technologies transform the building industry, from
the techniques used to design and execute buildings to the technologies and
systems deployed within them, </span><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">the SoA seeks to expand its research capacity in innovative
building technologies.<span></span></span></p>

SoA’s Integrated Design Research Lab (IDRL) and state-of-the-art fabrication

successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge advanced building
technology research and Master of Science curriculum in Building Technology,
the outcomes of which include publications, workshops, and public

managing the day-to-day operations</span><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:rgb(34,34,34);background:white none repeat scroll 0% 0%"> of the IDRL, providing research support
including grant proposal writing, desk survey, prototyping, simulation,
experimentation, data collection and processing, and peer-reviewed
publications. </span><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Applicants
must demonstrate their ability to be an effective researcher, manager and
collaborator. </span><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:rgb(34,34,34);background:white none repeat scroll 0% 0%">Preference
will be given to candidates who integrate computational methods in their
research process, including a working knowledge of custom scripting (eg.
python, </span><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:rgb(34,34,34)">EMS<span style="background:white none repeat scroll 0% 0%">, C++, etc.) in building technology applications. </span></span><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Evidence of published
design work, research projects, grant awards, and/or scholarship is required. <span style="color:black">An advanced graduate degree in
Architecture, Building Science, Design Computation or related field is
required; PhD is preferred.<span>  </span>The Research
Fellowship is a two-year, 12-month EHRA non-tenure track position directed at
emerging scholars in building technology.</span></span><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span></span></span></p>
