BTRIC focuses on four main areas: 1) research and development of new materials, components and systems technologies for energy efficiency in buildings, 2) whole-building and community integration (energy efficiency, renewable energy, and to grid), 3) improved energy management in existing buildings and industrial facilities during their operational phase, and 4) market transformations from old to new in all of these areas. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b>Major Duties / Responsibilities<o:p></o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal>The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: <o:p></o:p></p><ul style='margin-top:0in' type=disc><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>Completion of the "Advanced Insulation and Systems" Sub Task "Building Envelope Insulation" project <o:p></o:p></li><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>Application of Coupled Heat- and Moisture Simulation for soils in connection with below-grade building envelopes<o:p></o:p></li><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>Development and Application of a comprehensive hygrothermal simulation tool for sealed attics<o:p></o:p></li><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>Hygrothermal Risk Assessment of building envelope retrofit<o:p></o:p></li></ul><p class=MsoNormal><b><o:p> </o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><b>Qualifications<o:p></o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal>This position requires a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in building science, as well as competencies in thermal calculation, hygrothermal simulation and risk assessment.
