If, however, an exceptional calculation is pursued then the proposed is modeled as designed and the baseline as that which is standard practice, thus providing an opportunity to take credit for a more efficient chiller than what is standard practice. Same approach applies to the process cooling loads themselves (i.e. you can take credit for more efficient utilization of process loads and efficiency of rejecting the process heat). I would recommend searching LEED Interpretations & Addenda Database for the official ruling on similar approaches so that you can learn what LEED is looking for as justification of documenting the basis for standard practice. </span><a href="https://www.usgbc.org/leedinterpretations/LILanding.aspx">https://www.usgbc.org/leedinterpretations/LILanding.aspx</a><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#404040'><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#404040'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#005C34'>Alex Chapin, EIT, LEED AP BD+C<o:p></o:p></span></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#4D4D4D'>Energy Engineer<b><o:p></o:p></b></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#404040'><o:p> </o:p></span></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#005C34'>2rw Consultants, Inc.<o:p></o:p></span></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#4D4D4D'>100 10th St. NE, Suite 202<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#4D4D4D'>Charlottesville, VA 22902<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#4D4D4D'>t: 434.296.2116 Ext. 305<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#404040'><a href="http://www.2rw.com"><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#404040'>2rw.com</span></a><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>Date: Mon, 12 Dec 2011 20:00:49 +0800 (CST)<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>From: Esmireta <<a href="mailto:e2fye2@163.com">e2fye2@163.com</a>><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>To: <a href="mailto:bldg-sim@lists.onebuilding.org">bldg-sim@lists.onebuilding.org</a><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>Subject: [Bldg-sim] Chiller size and number of ASHRAE90.1<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>Message-ID: <<a href="mailto:530d642e.46be.13432258ecb.Coremail.e2fye2@163.com">530d642e.46be.13432258ecb.Coremail.e2fye2@163.com</a>><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>Content-Type: text/plain; charset="gbk"<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>Dear all,<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>According to the Table G3.1.3.7 of the ASHRAE90.1, the number and type of chillers could be determined. But I encountered a project of a industry factory, in which the industry process need a lot of cooling. I notice the Table G3.1.3.7 is for "Building Peak Cooling Load", I take it as the industry cooling will not be included in the Building Peak Cooling Load, is it correct? If so, is there any efficiency, number or type requirement of the industry chiller? Can I exclude the industry cooling energy in the building energy simulation?<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>Thanks!<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>-------------- next part --------------<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>An HTML attachment was scrubbed...<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>URL: <<a href="http://lists.onebuilding.org/pipermail/bldg-sim-onebuilding.org/attachments/20111212/2ebf4dff/attachment.html">http://lists.onebuilding.org/pipermail/bldg-sim-onebuilding.org/attachments/20111212/2ebf4dff/attachment.html</a>><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>------------------------------<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>_______________________________________________<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>Bldg-sim mailing list<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText><a href="mailto:Bldg-sim@lists.onebuilding.org">Bldg-sim@lists.onebuilding.org</a><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText><a href="http://lists.onebuilding.org/listinfo.cgi/bldg-sim-onebuilding.org">http://lists.onebuilding.org/listinfo.cgi/bldg-sim-onebuilding.org</a><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p></div></body></html>
