are the best resource to perform a similar process, or if the consultant on
your project should do the external modeling.  (Well, okay if you twist my arm
I suspect the consultant should do it!  Or at least Solartube should provide

is quite a bit of interaction between thermal energy produced by the external
calculation, and thermal energy consumed within the HAP model, and the
production may change depending on the electrical demands, and the timing of
the need for hot water is important.</span></font></p>

"Arial","sans-serif";color:black">I have a concern about using HAP for LEED
project energy modeling. The software provider stated that HAP does not model
daylighting and we have 13 Solatubes in a 2000 SF buidling. They also said it
doens't model PV and co-gen, which we have both. A 1.2 kW PV system and a
residential co-gen system that produces electricity and hot water for our 2000
SF building as well as some for other buidling aras on the small non-profit's
campus.</span></font></p>

<p><font size="1" color="black" face="Arial"><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:
"Arial","sans-serif";color:black">I concerned that modeling the PV system and
co-gen system externally and just putting those numbers into HAP and having the
solatube mfgr model the solatubes and giving us some number to put into HAP
will not yield the "real" same reuslts as running an eQuest model for
a true integrated energy model.</span></font></p>

<p><font size="1" color="black" face="Arial"><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:
"Arial","sans-serif";color:black">Any comments? I haven't used eQuest or HAP
myself and am trying to get feedback from people that have who are not already
part of the project's paid design team.</span></font></p>
