Dear all,

I'm currently working for a R&D center on District Heating and Cooling system supplying 90c hot water, which is mandatory in the area. No way to change to other chiller or system.

It easily meets EAp2 requirements on heating compared to baseline but fails to meet for cooling compared baseline (electrical centrifugal chiller)
We have set up the baseline based on ASHRAE Appendix G assuming electrical one for cooling on the baseline.
I wonder if there are any exceptional ways to solve this problem. (i.e. baseline with other district cooling system).
COP of absortion chiller of design building is of course much lower than baseline(electric) but cost of hot water is not low enough to compensate this COP gap.

thank you in advance for sharing your ideas on this.

any similar cases

any way to be exempted from USGBC

best regards,
