However, the only useful information you really get out of Revit is the building form and even that requires substantial tweaking on one side or the other to make an appropriate energy model. To my thinking, it is much more efficient to just import the geometry into SketchUp and use that as a background to trace while building a simplified thermal model in OpenStudio. I have never done it on an active project. I suspect it would be beneficial on a large scale project with someone who knows what they're doing in all three programs. I wrote a paper on the transfer process from Revit - gbXML - Trane Trace (RGT). It is attached. I'm sure there are many similarities with the Revit - Ecotect - E+ process as with the RGT process. </font><br>
