personally like to see more effort going into reduction of plug loads. We
generally just shrug our shoulders and assume there is little we can do about
that big chunk of energy that we model identically between our base and
proposed models, but that is perhaps the biggest opportunity for further energy
savings once envelope, lighting, HVAC and DHW use are optimized. Energy display
kiosks and related educational efforts can be attempted for ID credit, though I’m
not sure how often points are granted. I’d love to hear about some of the
creative ways to tackle plug loads that people have come up with. Don’t
assume clients won’t hear you out and be receptive next time you present
an innovative idea at a LEED Charrette.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
