<DIV>This question is primarily about EnergyPlus, but since other programs also use EPW files, I'm curious about other programs as well.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>There are many categories of data in an EPW file.  Which categories does EnergyPlus (or eQuest/DOE2, etc) actually use?  </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Using an Onset weather station, we are making a custom EPW file.  This weather station will provide: Dry Bulb Temp, Dew Point, Relative Humidity, Wind Speed, Wind Direction, and Global Horizontal Radiation, from which we can calculated Direct Normal Radiation and Diffuse Horizontal.  Therefore, we do not have: Atmospheric Station Pressure, Extraterrestrial Radiation, Illuminance values, Luminance values, Total and Opaque Sky Cover, Visibility, Ceiling Height, Present Weather Observation and Codes, Precipitable Water, Aerosol Optical Depth, Snow Depth, Days Since Last Snowfall, etc.  What is best the approach for these categories: a) import dummy data, for example from a local TMY file, b) leave them blank, c) enter "9", d) some other approach?</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Thank you in advance for any advice.</DIV>
<DIV>Sincerely,</DIV>
<DIV>Holly</DIV></div><br>
