 acts\nIBPSA-Canada’s biennial \nconference\, eSim\, brings together profess
 ionals\, academics and students \ninterested in building performance simula
 tion issues and applications. The 2010 \nconference is hosted by Manitoba H
 ydro\, in collaboration with the National \nResearch Council of Canada. It 
 will be held in Winnipeg\, Canada on May 19 and 20\, 2010 \n(pre-conference
  and post-conference workshops on May 18 and 21\, \n2010).\n \nOnly origina
 l papers related to the \nconference topics and not published elsewhere wil
 l be accepted. All accepted \npapers accompanied by a conference registrati
 on will be published in the \nconference proceedings\, and presented at the
  conference in parallel oral \nsessions. In the event submissions exceed th
 e conference presentation quota\, \nposter sessions will be held to accommo
 date additional papers. Each registration \nentitles the author to submit a
  single paper/poster. One additional paper/poster \nper registration is all
 owed against a special fee.The themes of the conference are: \n\n\n  Recent
  developments for modelling \n  the physical processes relevant to building
 s (thermal\, air flow\, moisture\, \n  lighting). \n  Algorithms for modell
 ing \n  conventional and innovative HVAC systems. \n  Methods for modelling
  the \n  whole-building performance\, including integrated resource managem
 ent\, \n  renewable energy sources and combined heat\, cool and power gener
 ation. \n  \n  Building simulation software \n  development and quality con
 trol approaches. \n  Use of building simulation tools in \n  code complianc
 e and incentive programmes. \n  Moving simulation into practice. \n  Case s
 tudies of innovative simulation approaches. \n  \n  Validation of building 
 simulation \n  software. \n  User interface and software \n  interoperabili
 ty issues. \n  Architectural and engineering data \n  visualization and ani
 mation. \n  Optimization approaches in building \n  design.  \n \nThe \ndea
 dline for abstracts is: October 1\, 2009.The abstract must be in plain text
  \nand be a maximum of 500 words. eSim 2010 is a bilingual \nconference and
  abstracts\, papers and presentations will be accepted in either \nEnglish
