After an incredibly successful turnout of over 50 people to the inaugural
meeting in September, I am pleased to announce the details for our second
meeting. We are privileged to have Adrian Tuluca of Viridian Energy give
a presentation on advanced as well as simplified methods of simulating heat
flow analysis for building envelopes. Perhaps more interestingly, he will
discuss the accuracy of both methods and when it is appropriate to use each of
them. <br>
<br>
Technical Committees will also meet for the first time at this meeting
(8PM). The "Building Modeling" technical committee - headed by
Michael Waite and Mike Karpman - will act as a forum for all types of building
modeling & software. There is the potential for this group to organize
trainings and workshops for eQUEST and other software of interest.
Additionally, the "Real Building Performance" technical committee -
headed by Chris Benedict - will seek to compare actual performance to model
performance. There is the potential for this committee to organize tours
of actual buildings as well as analyze case studies of efficient buildings.<br>

<b>Speaker Bio:</b><br>
<br>
Adrian Tuluca, RA is Principal with Viridian Energy & Environmental LLC, an
organization focused on energy analysis and green consulting. Before 2006
Adrian was Principal of the Energy/Green/Commissioning Group at Steven Winter
Associates. This group later became Viridian.<br>
<br>
Adrian has chaired the ASHRAE Building Envelope committee, led several research
projects on envelopes, performed tracer gas testing of high-rise buildings,
and, with his team, performed thousands of energy simulations of all building
types and sizes. The buildings he worked on received LEED Certified to Platinum
ratings.<br style="" clear="all">
