for researching, designing, and developing state-of-the-art HVAC applications
with a primary focus on the TRACE family of applications</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <BR>• Execute
software development activity, including HVAC modeling, code writing and
testing.<BR>• Apply HVAC fundamentals to solve complex building challenges.<BR>•
Develop a clear understanding of customer requirements and meet or exceed those
expectations.<BR>• Work in a team environment, which includes C.D.S. product
engineers and third-party development firms.<BR>• Document software design from
system level to detail level.<BR>• Maintain, upgrade, and enhance production
release software.<BR>• Handle all details of assigned projects from inception to
completion within mutually agreed-upon timeframes.<BR>• Occasionally support
internal and external customers.<BR>• Work with other software developers within
Trane to ensure consistency and integration of development efforts.<BR>• Follow
and help enhance departmental software development procedures.<BR>• 5 – 10%
travel required.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <BR>• Bachelor’s
degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering/computer science degree
required. Master’s degree preferred. <BR>• Building simulation or thermal
modeling experience preferred<BR>• Emphasis in computer programming or related
experience required.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED<BR>•
Systems modeling development experience – using FORTRAN required and Microsoft?
C++ preferred.<BR>• Additional programming languages is a plus – such as capable
in C#, XML and experience with Crystal Reports.<BR>• Project management
experience with demonstrated creativity and results preferred.<BR>• Fundamental
understanding of HVAC products, systems, and knowledge of construction industry
preferred.<BR>• Experience with analysis simulation and design software
preferred.<BR>• Experience with the use of efficient coding techniques
required.<BR>• Experience creating and implementing test plans preferred.<BR>•
Must be an innovative self-starter capable of setting and meeting goals and
deadlines, and of making critical business decisions.<BR>• Must have proven
ability to perform effectively in a team environment.<BR>• Must be capable of
grasping technical engineering details to provide solutions for customers.<BR>•
Will be required to successfully complete or to have successfully completed the
Graduate Training Program in La Crosse.</FONT></DIV>
