color:blue'>When creating Revit models for the purpose of gbXML, develop a
separate model for this specific purpose. Standard punched openings work better
than curtain walls, but check and see if aligning the curtain walls with the
centerline of their “host” wall will help. Always model external
shades as standard roof elements and make sure one edge aligns with the
centerline of the “host wall”.  As for the disappearing room-
investigate it very carefully and you will likely find some oddity in the
connections of the bounding elements that is causing the
“hiccup”.  For all of these reasons- the normal Revit
architecture or mechanical models will usually not work for the purpose of
creating valid gbXML. Test it early and often as you build it up a gbXML
optimized Revit model.  You are fortunate to have full <VE> because
you may still have to make final corrections in it.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<o:p></o:p></p>

<p><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>I am
currently working on a project where I've to model energy, thermal and daylight
analysis on a very large building. I'm using the link between Revit MEP2008 and
IES. I've also got the full licence for IES's applications. </span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>However,
when I import the model into IES several issues and problems occur that I require
help with, they are as follows;</span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>1) Some
windows disappear. These windows are made up as curtain walls. Now most of the
windows in the model are done the same way but a particular few disappear,
troublesome.</span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>2) External
shading devices disappear. These are modelled as a speciality family. I've
tried them previously as windows and they don’t work. I would like to use
them as a wall family but due to the architects 3D modelling procedures and the
complexity of the model, we can't. </span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>3) One of my
rooms is disappearing. Claims it has no bounding elements. But it has 6
