<div>i think in either case you would be using system 5.</div><div>table g3.1.1a of appendix G, recommends using system 5 for non residential buildings that are 5 floors or less & between 75000 -150000 SF. i believe it should read <span class="Apple-style-span" style="text-decoration: underline;">5 floors or more</span> instead of <span class="Apple-style-span" style="text-decoration: underline;">5 floors or less</span>. there is more clarity in the user manual on page G-23. I would check the errata sheet to be double sure.</div><div>- Vamshi</div><div><br class="webkit-block-placeholder"></div><div>On Sep 12, 2007, at 11:30 AM, Bill Talbert wrote:</div><div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><blockquote type="cite"> <div>In Table G3.1.1A, the baseline building system is selected based on building area and the number of floors. Does anyone know if a Penthouse is considered a floor? From the A90.1 definitions, it appears that the Penthouse should be included in the gross floor area, but whether the Penthouse should be considered in defining the baseline building system type is unclear. For a 120,000 SF building that has 5 floors and a Penthouse and purchased heat, the baseline system could be System 5 if the Penthouse is not counted as a floor or System 7 if the Penthouse is included. Can anyone help clarify this?</div> <div>Thanks,</div> <div>Bill Talbert</div><pre>
