Dear Ismael:<br><br>
John Seem's dissertation was the basis for the algorithm that is used in
EnergyPlus to calculate conduction transfer functions using the state
space method. It is the best reference available that I know of for
coming up with an algorithm for this calculation procedure.<br><br>
If you are looking for code that calculates CTF using this method, there
are two potential sources: the EnergyPlus code and the ASHRAE Toolkit for
Building Load Calculations.<br><br>
The EnergyPlus code is available but not free. To obtain the source
code for EnergyPlus, you would need to purchase a collaborative
developer's license (see Licensing under Getting EnergyPlus from the
EnergyPlus web site
<a href="http://www.energyplus.gov/" eudora="autourl">www.energyplus.gov</a>).
The cost for this is US$250.<br><br>
The ASHRAE Toolkit for Building Load Calculations also has source code
that is fairly similar to the EnergyPlus code. You would need to
purchase this from ASHRAE
(<a href="http://www.ashrae.org/" eudora="autourl">www.ashrae.org</a>).
The price appears to be comparable to the EnergyPlus source code unless
you qualify for the ASHRAE member discount.<br><br>
The ASHRAE Toolkit has a stand-alone driver that can be used to look only
at the CTF routine, thus it might be easier to modify this for your
needs. However, more work has been done on the EnergyPlus routine
since the Toolkit was finished. Unfortunately, I am not aware of
any implementation of calculating CTF using the state space method that
is free.<br><br>

I’m PhD Professor in a University of Spain. We are working in a These
about CTF by using space state method. Anybody knows where I can find
good references in order to implements in a program?. Is the CTFs code
includes in EnergyPlus free and available?<br>

I have been working with the thesis of Seem, J.E. “Modeling of Heat
Transfer in Buildings”.<br>

Thank you in advanced.<br>
