no longer subsidized via the SGIP. As of January 1, 2007, PV is handled
through the California Solar Initiative. The program is a $3.3 billion
dollar program that is scheduled to operate for 10 years. SGIP will
continue to handle recips, turbines, wind turbines, and a really cool thing
called fuel cells for the remainder of the year. After Jan. 1, 2008, only
wind turbines and fuel cells will be eligible for SGIP for the remaining 4 years
of its program life. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV dir=ltr><FONT face=Arial size=2>Ultimately, the statement, "California no
longer gives incentives for PV" is wholly inaccurate. In fact, the Calif
Solar Initiative - or "CSI" is the world's leading PV incentive program.
In fact, California gives too damn much to solar and not enough to other, better
forms of distributed generation (like fuel cells). So there. </FONT></DIV>
