Beausoleil-Morrison is the head of building simulation research at the CANMET
Energy Technology Centre of Natural Resources Canada. He has been involved in
the development of such simulation tools as EE4, HOT2000,<BR>HOT3000, and
BASECALC. Ian has researched and published widely on the topic of building
simulation, on such aspects as internal surface convection, indoor air flow,
ground heat transfer, validation, and fuel-cell cogeneration. Ian holds B.A.Sc.
and M.A.Sc. degrees from the University of Waterloo and a Ph.D. from the
University of Strathclyde (UK). He is a very active member of ASHRAE's Technical
Committee 4.7 on Energy Calculations, has chaired its subcommittee on Simulation
and Component Models, and sits on its committee that develops the ASHRAE Method
of Test for the Evaluation of Building Energy Analysis Computer Programs. Ian is
the Operating Agent for the International Energy Agency's Annex 42 on The
Simulation of Building-Integrated Fuel Cell and Other Cogeneration Systems. In
2001 he received IBPSA's Young Contributor Award and sits on IBPSA's board of
directors since 2004.</SPAN></FONT></STRONG></DIV>
