<P> I've used the same method while I was working on one project. What I've found out is that some manipulation of the input file exported from Ecotect has to be done in order to make it work. If you export the file from Ecotect and run in EPlus right away, fatal error will occur and EPlus will abort.</P>
<P> These errors might occur from several things, beginning from the version identifier. Fatal error might be from the MATERIAL in your input file. Ecotect would export some materials as MATERIAL:air for the outside layer which is not allowed for EPLus and this would cause fatal error such as <SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: TH"><EM>** Severe<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>** Outside Layer is Air for construction. </EM>Also, the air gap within the glazing material has to be changed to WINDOWGAS (since Ecotect would export it as MATERIAL:AIR). Also, Ecotect allows child object to have closer size to the parent object but this would cause severe errors in EPlus so you might want to check it. One more thing is to check the node of each surface that they don't exceed 4. </SPAN></P>
