Title: "Computer Simulation for Improving Existing Building
Performance"
Abstract: Computer simulation has proved to be effective in
optimizing
both new building design and retrofit design. In the last
decade, the Prof. Liu has been using computer simulation in real
buildings and has shown that it is an equally effective tool for
improving existing building performance. His presentation will
discuss procedures and techniques that use computer simulation
for fault detection, optimal control schedule development,
potential benefit projection, and performance verification in
existing buildings. Case studies will also be presented.
