Hello all,

IBPSA-USA <https://www.ibpsa.us/>has an active request for proposals (RFP)
for a Review of BPM Protocols and BEM Reporting Output in support of the
Building Data Exchange (BDE) committee. RFPs are due by 5 PM Pacific, on
Thursday, July 13, 2023. Please contact christine at ibpsa.us with any
questions.

The outputs of building energy modeling (BEM) software are not provided in
a standardized format. Utilities, Code Authorities, and Rating Systems use
building performance modeling (BPM) protocols to demonstrate design
compliance and to predict building performance. Standardizing BPM outputs
would streamline the submission documentation and review process, as well
as simplify workflow automation. It would also enable more effective
crowdsourcing of analysis techniques and data visualization via efforts
like IBPSA’s Project StaSIO. Additionally, output standardization would
reduce the time required to format submission documentation, allowing
project teams more time for design-assist modeling to improve building
performance.

The IBPSA-USA Building Data Exchange Committee (BDE) has been tasked with
developing a consensus document for a BPM Output Reporting schema. The
scope includes a review of the current BPM reporting protocols and typical
BPM software outputs. The goal is to identify common outputs and levels of
aggregation for consideration in the consensus document.

hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you.

Best regards,
Christine
