workflows for 'Sustainable Cities & Communities (UN SDG 11)

Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG11) deals with 'Sustainable cities and
communities' as part of a total of 17 SDGs established by the United Nations
(UN) General Assembly. SDG 11 aims to achieve 10 targets that are measured
with 15 indicators. This IBPSA Education Webinar Series invites submissions
of original research to the Journal of Building Performance Simulation
(JBPS) special issue (SI) in Multi-domain simulation workflows for
'Sustainable Cities & Communities (UN SDG 11). The guest co-editors of the
SI will discuss the IBPSA and JBPS roles in extending knowledge beyond
buildings, provide the context of UN SDG11 as the blueprint to achieve a
sustainable future for all and introduce the SI focus and topics, finishing
with a round table and Q&A session with the JBPS editors Ian
Beausoleil-Morrison, Jan Hensen, and three guest editors of SI. This live
webinar will be followed by a series of other webinars delivered by the
authors of the papers included in the SI once published.

 

Dr. Clarice Bleil de Souza is an Associate Professor (Reader - UK) at the
Welsh School of Architecture (Cardiff University UK), teaching architecture
technology, research methods and coordinating MSc dissertations. She has a
PhD in architectural sciences, an MSc in civil engineering and is a
qualified architect. Her research interests are in the interdisciplinary
area of decision-making in the built environment including the use of
digital tools, machine learning, models and modelling applied to the areas
of sustainable design and regenerative design from buildings to urban scale.


 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr Lori McElroy MBE is Professor of Smart, Resilient Cities in the
Department of Architecture at the University of Strathclyde. Lori's research
focuses on changing the way construction professionals do business: from
supporting the use of innovative and novel performance assessment techniques
in practice; to providing wide-ranging support and advice to industry and
building clients on policy development and implementation. This includes the
delivery of three state-of-the-art academic/industry collaborative
programmes for the UK and Scottish Governments and the dissemination of this
work internationally.

 

 

 

 

 

 



Dr. Camilla Pezzica is Assistant Professor (Lecturer - UK) in Digital
Methods in Architecture and Urbanism at the Welsh School of architecture,
Cardiff University. She is a urban analyst and environmental designer
interested in interdisciplinary research linking Sustainable Development and
Disaster Risk Reduction. Her main research areas are urban morphology and
transformations, temporary housing, human-space interaction and public
space, and her contributions mainly concern methods and operational models
for spatial analysis and knowledge tools applied to urban modelling,
