Dear Colleagues:

As we are in the quiet period in between the 2018-19 and 2019-20 academic years, I am interested to hear whether any of you who are running courses in the area of building performance are thinking of adapting my book on Building Performance Analysis? The full book is probably most suited for specialized MSc courses. However, there are various chapters that might benefit a wider audience. For instance the chapter on performance quantification gives a wide overview of the many phyiscal measurement approaches, building performance simulation techniques, expert judgement and stakeholder analysis methods available, and should work well as stand-alone material. The chapters on design, operation/control/management and high performance buildings should help introduce these topics to students embarking on these fields. Whereas the final chapter on emerging theory should be a good starting point for dissertation research projects on both MSc and PhD level. If you are recommending the book to your students, whether as core text or as recommended reading, I am keen to hear from you. And if anyone is interested in joining our own Plymouth-based MSc in High Performance Buildings which is based around the book, recruitment is still open until the end of August; details can be found at: https://www.plymouth.ac.uk/courses/postgraduate/msc-high-performance-buildings.

Best regards,
Pieter de Wilde
