WORKSHOP: Sustainable Urban Modeling in UMI <http://esim2018.etsmtl.ca/#showworkshop>

What to expect:
Learn about designing sustainable, high density neighborhoods that combine building resource–efficiency with quality indoor and outdoor spaces. The Sustainable Design Lab at MIT has developed an urban modeling platform called umi <http://web.mit.edu/sustainabledesignlab/projects/umi/index.html>. This urban modeling interface helps evaluate the environmental performance of neighborhoods and cities with respect to operational and embodied energy use, walkability and daylighting potential. Focus users are urban designers and planners, architects, municipalities, utilities, sustainability consultants and other urban stakeholders.

About the presenter:
Samuel Letellier-Duchesne is a PhD Candidate at Polytechnique Montréal. As a visiting student at the MIT Sustainable Design Lab, he joined the team of developers working on new performance metrics for umi. He specializes in building energy simulation at the city scale as well as modeling district energy systems.
