Overview

Mason & Hanger is seeking a qualified and self-motivated
Energy Engineer II to join our Energy and Sustainability Services group. This is a core interdisciplinary team of talented and skilled professionals within Mason & Hanger dedicated to improving the performance and sustainability of buildings through
 advanced simulation, sustainability management, and whole-building commissioning.

 
The
ideal candidate will have extensive working knowledge of building HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and envelope systems with design experience in these systems preferred. Candidate must possess the ability to generate whole-building energy models for LEED,
 building code, and federal mandate compliance; complete LEED Optimize Energy Performance credit template submissions; review plans, schedules, and controls; and interact with multiple design disciplines.
 
The candidate will have demonstrated experience in applying sustainable building practices and will be capable of assessing the impact of design strategies on
 a facility’s life cycle cost considering energy, water, operating costs, and associated greenhouse gas emissions.

 
The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and will be capable of authoring complete analysis reports and studies with limited
 supervision. The candidate will also have demonstrated interpersonal skills through experience interfacing with clients, engineers, architects and others of varying technical abilities, and must be able to work effectively within a team environment.

 
Candidates should be self-motivated and able to self-direct and manage multiple ongoing projects at once.
 
Candidates will also participate in building inspections and surveys, including energy audits and assisting in building commissioning
 activities. The ideal candidate will be willing to travel to participate in these surveys. Estimated travel is four weeks per year.

Requirements



Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Architectural Engineering with mechanical emphasis

4+ years of energy modeling experience with the ability to interpret results and correlate to equipment designs

Experience in completion of
Optimize Energy Performance credit template
Experience with eQuest; experience with other platforms such as Trace 700, EnergyPlus, and IESVE a plus
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

U.S. Citizenship 


Preferred



PE or EIT  

LEED AP or Green Associate
BEMP
Design experience in HVAC and/or building controls systems
AutoCAD or Revit experience
