[Bldg-sim] Design Builder Query

Tough call, without background information it’s hard to say any specific
reason causing this problem. Someone could only help you *better* if you
explain your problem *better*​!!​


*Too large*

 *Complex* both requires different
​set of ​
approach to resolve
​ the problem​

 your modeling approach within E+ and part in Design Builder. In my
experience 100,000 m2 *Large* Building
​sometime ​
might take less simulation run time compared to 10,000 m2 depending on the
*complexity*. If I were you I would look into:

1. Building
​Geometry​

ore surfaces more run time
2. No. Of glazing surfaces? more sub surfaces more run time. You should
lump small windows into one large window if the boundaries conditions are
same
3. Daylight
​S​
ensor?
4. Shading elements?
5.
​ ​
Complexity

f HVAC system

6. Executing run through

simulation manager?

Its faster​ than simulating within DB

7. Using DesignBuilder interface for result

​ OR use xEsoView or DB Result Viewer​

As said
​there are many ​
reasons
​that ​
could
​ increase simulation run time. I encourage ​to investigate it further and
simplify few things within reasonable limits.
