This webinar will teach you how to capture and calculate environmental and design analytics directly from a BIM model. The underlying technology allows for a synthesis of building designs in a structured format that allows the capture of a portfolio of designs for comparative analysis and benchmarking. In addition to capturing the topological configuration of a design, it also provides analysis of environmental features such as direct sunlight, natural ventilation, spatial indicators and extent of privacy. This has extensive applications for Architects and Developers as it also allows the automatic production of compliance reports, with directly synced BIM data, for submitting development applications. Through the structured collection of design data, ArchiStarr introduces applications for machine learning, predictive analytics and design intelligence for building design.

About the Presenter

Dr Ben Coorey is a leading expert in parametric modelling and is the Founder and Director of The Institute of Digital Design - IDDA.com.au. The Institute specialises in teaching digital design, benchmarking designer skills and enhancing workflows through BIM Automation Toolkits. Dr Ben completed a PhD in Architecture and is a registered Architect in Australia. He has worked for a number of prestigious international architectural firms and his extensive research has been published in international journals. He has presented at a range of international conferences at Hong Kong, Singapore, San Francisco, and Australia and has lectured at various universities including UTS, UNSW, Sydney University, and the University of Melbourne.
