This position may be performed in Delhi India or remotely within India.


USGBC is currently seeking multiple Certification Reviewers to work with the Green Business Certification Inc.’s (GBCI) Certification team. GBCI is the premier certification body responsible for global delivery and quality oversight of green building and green business sustainability standards.  Its integrated team of green building specialists administers credentials and certifications for the U.S. Green Building Council (LEED<http://www.usgbc.org/home>), the International WELL Building Institute (WELL Building Standard<http://www.wellcertified.com/>), International Finance Corporation (EDGE<https://edge.gbci.org/>), PEER<http://peer.gbci.org/>, Sustainable SITES<http://sustainablesites.org/>, and GRESB<https://www.gresb.com/>. These highly motivated individuals will use their extensive industry experience, technical expertise and project management skills to work within a dynamic, high performing cross functional team to deliver certification and onsite assessment services as appropriate for these standards.
If working remotely within India, high-speed internet access, and reliable phone connections are required. Candidates must be willing to travel as necessary, and be able to work off-hours to collaborate with USA-based teammates.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Specific responsibilities include

·         Perform in-depth technical review and analyses of building design, construction, and operations for compliance with sustainability standards (e.g. LEED, EDGE, WELL, etc.)

·         Perform onsite performance testing for assessor-based certification programs (e.g., WELL)

·         Perform onsite compliance verification/assessment for assessor/auditor-based certification programs (e.g. WELL, EDGE)

·         Provide expert review of LEED: EA Prerequisite 2/Credit 1: Optimize Energy Performance, LEED IEQ Prerequisite 1: Minimum Indoor Air Quality Performance, and related credits

·         Educate the marketplace by effectively communicating technical requirements through written, verbal, and in-person meetings (e.g. WELL) with project teams

·         Perform quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) review of work done by other GBCI Certification Reviewers, GBCI Assessors/Auditors (e.g. WELL, EDGE) and sub contracted review teams

·         Provide technical customer service support as needed

·         Contribute to the continued development and increased technical knowledge of fellow Certification Reviewers through collaborative teamwork
Secondary responsibilities

·         Assist in developing, reviewing, and refining GBCI programs, policies and plans, as well as specific credit language and reference materials

·         Assist in conceiving and developing improvements to the certification review process based on personal knowledge and vision, or user feedback

·         Liaise with USGBC, IWBI, IFC and other standard developers and their associated technical committees

·         Liaise with USGBC Education team, GBCI Credentialing team, and other internal and external groups as needed

·         Maintain currency of expertise by staying abreast of new and developing industry issues and trends

·         Assist with mentoring other team members

·         Other duties as assigned
Education and training requirements/preferences

·         Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in mechanical or energy engineering or equivalent

·         Professional Engineer license preferred

·         CEM certification preferred

·         LEED AP required upon hire; with specialty preferred (BD+C, ID+C)
Experience requirements

·         Minimum 5+ years direct professional experience in mechanical system design, energy modeling, commissioning and energy auditing

·         Direct experience with at least 10 energy models for commercial projects by consulting on, creating or reviewing compliance with ASHRAE Std. 90.1, California’s Title-24 or equivalent local code

·         Experience with a variety of high-performance building projects, including LEED projects

·         Direct experience using energy modeling programs for commercial buildings (eQuest, EnergyPro, Trace, HAP, Visual DOE, IES etc.) and understanding of their input and output summary documentation

·         Ability to read, understand and interpret building floor plans, sections, site plans, construction specifications, mechanical schedules, commissioning reports and operational policies

·         Detailed technical understanding of and experience with common environmental building codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 62.1, ASHRAE 55, California Title 24, IPMVP Vol. III, IESNA RP-33, ASHRAE 189, IECC)

·         In the field HVAC system design and construction experience preferred

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing

·         Excellent ability to clearly explain advanced technical issues in manner that is easily understood

·         Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work

·         Ability to work well both independently and on teams

·         Ability and willingness to self-initiate

·         Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office suite

·         Fluent written and spoken English
