[Bldg-sim] EnergyStar Rating

I believe Energy Star just needs metered consumption of each energy stream to the building regardless of the energy type (grid elec, on site pv elec, nat. gas, hot water, chilled water, etc).

The rating is really based on source energy use intensity and all projects use the source to site ratios they specify (http://www.energystar.gov/ia/business/evaluate_performance/site_source.pdf).

Tangentially, if anyone is interested in the 1:1 ratio for On Site Solar and Wind generated electricity read http://www.energystar.gov/ia/business/evaluate_performance/RenewableEnergyFAQs.pdf.

Subject: [Bldg-sim] EnergyStar Rating

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if there is different process to get EnergyStar rating for a building if the central plant is remote(i.e. it is not in the building ). Can the consumption be added as miscellenous consumption in KW for the total utility bills.
