HVAC Engineer / Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Design
Job Summary:
We are looking for a mechanical engineer who is passionate about
sustainability and energy efficiency to join our efforts and work with
architects, engineers, contractors and stakeholders to provide building
commissioning, energy efficiency and sustainable design services to the
commercial building sector.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Learn about building commissioning, energy efficiency in buildings,
sustainable design and LEED certification.
2. Perform energy simulations using tools such as DOE2 (eQuest, Visual DOE,
etc), Trane Trace, TRNSYS etc.)
3. Write commissioning documents such as plans, project requirements,
training specifications, etc.
4. Review drawings, specifications, and submittals.
5. Perform on-site energy audits and installation reviews.
6. Evaluate energy conservation measures.
7. Assist in the implementation of energy conservation measures.
8. Assist with marketing and sales.
9. Participate in developing Sustainable Engineering Group.
Qualifications and Experience:
We are looking for a mechanical engineer who shares our mission of providing
technical solutions to help promote a more sustainable society by helping
create higher quality and more energy efficient buildings. A minimum of a
mechanical engineering bachelor degree is required, a graduate degree is
beneficial. An understanding of building energy systems, building
commissioning, energy simulations and green building technologies is
beneficial. Knowledge and experience working with building heating,
ventilation and air conditioning systems is also desirable. Candidates must
have good technical writing and communication skills and be motivated to
learn about sustainable practices in commercial buildings. Two years or more
working experience as a mechanical engineer is beneficial.
