Hello Everyone,
I have always wondered whether there is a better way - an exciting yet
simple - to communicate how a building consumes energy.
Traditionally, engineers and architects use Pie charts and bar graphs -
they are boring. I ran into what is called a "sankey diagram" on a
magazine and it occurred to me why not employ this idea for a building's
energy consumption.
Below is an example of how you can use a sankey diagram to communicate
how a building consumes energy - or at least how you think it will.
I have dedicated a website for communicating sustainability stories at
http://www.visualizegreen.com
The reason I am sharing this with you - If you are like me trying to
educate owners, end users and other design members about how your energy
consumption predictions impact design, then you may need compelling
graphics to tell the story.
I can help with creating a diagram for anyone who is interested - just
contact me with details through my site/blog.
Thanks
Prem
